Duncan Joseph “Joe” McInnes (born 1943 in Wetumpka, Alabama) is the director of the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), appointed by Alabama Governor Bob Riley. ==Biography== After graduating from the University of Alabama in 1966, McInnes attended Samford University and its Cumberland School of Law. He also served in the US Army Previous to his appointment to ALDOT, McInnes worked for Blount International, Inc. and retired as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. During his time with Blount he played a key in transforming the company from specializing in construction to being a multi-industry conglomerate. He also assisted the Blount Family in founding the Montgomery-based Alabama Shakespeare Festival, the sixth largest Shakespeare festival in the world, and served as the director for the group.
